TIERRA FIRME FILMS
At Tierra Firme Films, we are drawn to stories about people searching for their place in the world.
We develop auteur-driven films, series, and documentaries from Mexico, Spain, and other European countries, with a focus on characters navigating contradictions, turning points, and unfamiliar territories. We are particularly interested in stories told with humor, sensitivity, and a perspective capable of finding the extraordinary within the everyday.
We see development as a process of exploration: researching, writing, and nurturing each project for as long as it takes to find its own voice. We are committed to narratives that cross geographical and emotional borders while maintaining a strong authorial identity.
Tierra Firme Films was born from the belief that telling a story is also a way of finding one's bearings. We seek projects that, in a constantly shifting world, help us recognize what remains.
Our team
Writer, director, and producer working between Mexico, Spain, and Germany.
Drawing from a multidisciplinary background in film and the visual arts, her work explores identity, belonging, and human relationships through character-driven narratives that blend humor, intimacy, and a strong visual sensibility. Her projects have been supported through international funding programs and artistic residencies across Europe and Latin America.
María studied a Bachelor in Film and Television in Centro de Diseño Cine y Televisión, a Master Executive Production at ECAM in Spain, and Documentary Filmmaking at the HFF München in Germany. Her films and visual work have been presented internationally in festivals and exhibition spaces.
She is currently developing her first feature film and several series and documentary projects as co-founder of Tierra Firme Films.

MARÍA CRISTINA MORENO
Producer and co-founder of Tierra Firme Films, based in Mexico City.
With a background in Business Administration and Public Administration, she brings extensive experience in management, strategic planning, and project development. Her career began in the performing arts as a theatre director before expanding into film and television production.
She has produced and developed short films that have screened internationally and is currently focused on the development of fiction and documentary features and series. At Tierra Firme Films, she leads production strategy, financing, and project development, helping guide projects from their earliest stages through production.
